WASHINGTON STATE HISTORY MUSEUM’S ANNUAL MODEL TRAIN FESTIVAL

TACOMA - Oct. 12 – The Washington State History Museum’s 14th Annual Model Train Festival
will run Dec. 26 through Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The History Museum has expanded
its operating hours to be open every day of the week, and one additional hour per day.
The Annual Model Train Festival draws the largest attendance of the year for the History
Museum, increasing admission seven times the Museum’s weekly average during the festival.
Every floor of the Museum will house model trains. This event, included in the price of Museum admission, celebrates the golden age of railroads with model train displays and fun for all ages.
This year’s Festival features layouts from
• 4D PNR HO Modular Group
• 4D PNR NTRAK
• Mount Rainier N-Scale
• Pierce County Lionel Club
• Tacoma Northwestern Model Railroad Club
• a Playmobil® display by Steven Goldenbogen
• a booth from the Washington State Operation Lifesaver
• The largest permanent model train layout in the state by the Puget Sound Model Railroad Engineers
• ParentMap will provide hands-on activities for the youngest train fans on Dec. 27.

Washington State History Museum
