TACOMA - May 12 – Tacoma’s three downtown museums—Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum and Washington State History Museum—will extend their hours of operation to seven days a week for the summer season beginning Memorial Day, May 26, 2008. This schedule provides greater flexibility for residents to bring out of town guests downtown and for tourists to visit all three museums when planning their busy vacation itineraries. The extended hours will remain in effect through Labor Day weekend, September 1.
Both the Museum of Glass and Tacoma Art Museum will be open for the Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day holidays. The Washington State History Museum will be open for Independence Day but not Memorial Day or Labor Day. Specific hours for each institution are:

The Mid-week @ the Museums ticket price will continue every Wednesday throughout the summer. Visitors can purchase one ticket and experience all three museums on Wednesdays for a discounted rate: $18 adults; $16 seniors (age 62+) and military; $14 children 6-18. Valid on Wednesdays only.

ADMISSION – Free for members, $10 general, $8 seniors, military and students (13+ with ID), $8 groups of
10 or more, $4 children (6-12) years old. Children under 6 are admitted free. Admission is free every
third Thursday of the month from 5pm to 8pm.

About the Tacoma Art Museum
Tacoma Art Museum connects people and builds community through art. The museum serves the diverse
communities of the region through its collection, exhibitions, and learning programs, emphasizing art and
artists from the Northwest. The museum’s five galleries display an array of top national shows, the best

About the Washington State History Museum
The Washington State History Museum, flagship of the Washington State Historical Society, is located at
1911 Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma, just off 1-5. The Washington State History Museum presents
exhibits, programs, and events that bring to life the stories of Washington's history. The Washington State
Historical Society has been dedicated to collecting, preserving, and vividly presenting Washington's rich
and varied history since 1891.
HOURS - Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., with extended hours and free admission every Thursday night,
5 – 8 p.m.; Sunday NOON – 5 p.m. During the summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Museum is
open on Mondays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
